The Lifter's Guide to Training in Berlin

Berlin trains at its own hours. The best rooms here aren't the chains — they're converted power stations, railway arches, and basements that have been moving iron since before reunification. Here's where to go, and how to get in.

Start where the platforms are

The right room reads you in ninety seconds. So does a good city. If you compete, head to Mitte first: calibrated plates, competition platforms, and staff who know the difference between a deadlift and a clean.

  • Pumpwerk Strength Club — a converted power station, open 06:00–02:00, no contract.
  • Eisenlager 36 — Kreuzberg's no-frills strength den.

Train around the clock, not the schedule

Berlin's late hours are a feature, not a bug. Several rooms run 24 hours on weekdays, which means you can lift after a red-eye and still beat the crowd.

Buy a day pass, scan in, train. That's the whole thing.

Pack a towel — most German floors require one — and you're set.
